Need help navigating your next move?

You’re driving along the motorway.

Following your GPS.

It’s so much easier navigating your way when you’re travelling. Especially when you’re on your own.

It’s one less thing to have to think about. It can allow you to relax a little, turn up the music and enjoy the ride.

Navigating change

You find yourself approaching a big intersection.

Lanes are peeling off left and right signalling different destinations.

You’ know where you’re heading and you’re pretty sure which lane you need to be in.

Until you get distracted by a smart sign indicating congestion ahead. Hopefully not where you’re headed!

Suddenly your GPS is excitedly vying for your attention.

It seems you didn’t end up in the right lane after all and now you’re on the wrong road heading in the wrong direction.

Furthermore, you’re now also heading directly into the heavy traffic.

Great!

Well, you can’t exactly turn around now. That would be illegal, and not to mention highly dangerous.

You‘re simply going to have to bide your time and wait for the next junction to exit and then course correct.

We don’t always make the right moves – even when using GPS. Sometimes we need to sit patiently and let things play out.

Navigating through careers

We don’t always make the best moves in our careers either. Especially when multiple options appear at once.

Time pressure and incomplete information often complete the mix too, which only add to the confusion.

Most decisions aren’t fatal or irreversible. We can often get back on track again with a few extra turns if necessary. Often learning some great lessons along the way as we do.

But what if we can find ourselves on the right path the first time around? This can save so much time, effort and frustrations.
